Controls how the bot finds new coins to trade, scores their quality, and removes underperformers. All discovery runs automatically in the background.

The bot continuously scans Coinbase for new coins that meet your criteria. Coins are scored, put through probation, then added to the active grid if they pass.
Auto-discover coins
Master switch. When ON, the bot autonomously finds and approves new coins using ML scoring and volatility analysis. When OFF, only manually specified coins are traded.
ML-assisted scoring
Enables a machine learning model trained on historical grid cycle patterns to score coin candidates (0–100). Higher scores = better historical fit for grid trading. Disable to fall back to rule-based scoring only.
ML minimum score
A coin must score at least this high (0–100) to be auto-approved for your grid. Raise this to be more selective; lower it to allow more coins. Default: 12 — deliberately permissive so coins reach probation and get real-world evaluation.

How often the bot runs a full coin discovery scan. Every 24h is the default — more frequent scans find opportunities faster but use more API quota. Range: 1–168h.

Automatic Buy Pause
Auto-cancel open buys and stop new buys when 2+ market signals deteriorate simultaneously. On by default. ⚠️ Cancels open orders when triggered.
Oscillation Score Entry Gate
Score every new discovery (0–100) before approving it. Gates entries to coins that are currently oscillating, not trending down. Rejections are logged. Default: on.

Replaces fixed sell orders with a ratcheting stop that follows price up and sells when it retraces. Captures more upside than a fixed target.

Trail gap %
How far price must retrace from its peak before the trail stop triggers a sell. Smaller = tighter, sells sooner. Larger = gives more room, may capture bigger moves. Default: 25%.

When ON, second and deeper grid lots arm their trail stop at the first grid level (~center) rather than waiting for price to reach their own level. Gets trailing protection on deep lots sooner. Off by default — opt-in.

When a circuit breaker fires, the preceding candles contain a price spike that inflates VWAP, BB midline, and EMA — dragging the center too high. This setting excludes those candles from the calculation. Analysis showed CB-era buys had only 32% win rate vs 97% normally. Default: 3h. Set to 0 to disable.

The 7-day high/low midpoint is used as one center anchor. For a coin that trended down all week, that 7-day high is well above current price — dragging the center up. This caps the contribution at max +X% above current price. Default: 5%. Set to 0 to disable.

Per-coin trend detection
Previously the bot used BTC's trend regime for all coins. This adds per-coin detection: if a coin's EMA20 is below its EMA50 AND price is below VWAP24h, the center shifts to trend-following weights for that coin independently of BTC. Analysis showed 5% win rate on TRENDING_DOWN cycles. Default: ON.

Minimum minutes between drift-threshold-triggered rebuilds on the same coin. Does NOT apply to cascade triggers (when 40%+ of buy levels fill — those are intentional immediate rebuilds). Default: 30min.

The smart recenter algorithm scores each potential rebuild (0–1). Above this threshold, the entire grid is cancelled and rebuilt at the new center. Below it, only a nudge is applied. Default: 0.7.
Nudge threshold (score)
Score above this but below the full rebuild threshold triggers a partial adjustment — moves a subset of orders toward the new center without a full cancel/replace. Default: 0.4.
Minimum move duration (min)
Price must have been trending in one direction for at least this long before a recenter is triggered. Filters out momentary spikes that would cause churn. Default: 20min.

How far price must drift from the current grid center before a recenter is triggered. Leave blank to use the ATR-adaptive default (dynamically scales with each coin's volatility). Set explicitly to override.
Sell floor buffer (%)
Extra percentage added on top of fee costs when calculating the minimum acceptable sell price. Prevents marginally profitable cycles where rounding could tip the result negative. Default: 0.05%.

Level spacing exponent
Controls how buy levels are distributed around center. 1.0 = uniform spacing (each level equally spaced). >1.0 = exponentially wider gaps as you go deeper — more capital at tight levels, less at deep levels. Default: 1.0.
Profit lock (%)
When a position gains this % above cost basis, the sell floor is raised to lock in that profit — protecting against a reversal. 0 = disabled. Example: set to 5% to ensure you never sell a position at less than +5% gain once it reaches that level.

Why trailing exit? Instead of a fixed limit sell, each level gets a trailing stop that arms when price reaches the sell target. As price rises the stop follows it up — locking in more profit. If price reverses, it sells at the stop. Existing open sells are automatically converted and restored if you switch back.

An API key lets Tessara place buy and sell orders in your Coinbase account automatically - without you having to do anything. It's like giving a trusted assistant a key to your house, but only to certain rooms. Tessara cannot withdraw or transfer your funds. Your money stays in Coinbase at all times.
💵 Fund your Coinbase account with USD first
Tessara trades using USD in your Coinbase account. Before connecting, make sure you have funds showing as Cash (USD).
⚠️ Do not use USDC. If you deposited USDC, convert it to USD first: in Coinbase go to Convert → USDC → USD. Tessara trades USD-quoted pairs and USDC will not work as trading capital.
